The Spanish League (ACB) has a new champion. Valencia Basket upset defending champ Real Madrid, overcoming the fact that home court advanatge was in the hands of the whites, and closed the Liga Endesa Finals in four games with a 87-76 victory at a packed Font de Sant Lluis, the home arena to the oranges.

Valencia finished third the regular season behind Real and Baskonia, and in the road to lift the trophy, has eliminated the three ACB teams with an A license in the Euroleague (Barcelona in first round, Baskonia in semis and Real Madrid in the Finals). Only facing Barcelona the Pedro Martinez-coached team had home court advantage.

Valencia Center Bojan Dubljevic (from Montenegro) was named MVP of the Finals
