The German League BBL announced that 22 clubs have submitted their documents to participate in the 2019-2020 easyCredit BBL season licensing process. In addition to the current 18 first division clubs, four from the ProA have applied for a license: Hamburg Towers, NINERS Chemnitz, Nuremberg Falcons BC and ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES.

The licensing league committee chaired by dr. Thomas Braumann will meet in Cologne next May 9 and will decide on the licensing. Prior to this, the expert committee chaired by Peter Behrbohm will examine the economic conditions; the League is responsible for analyzing and assessing the other general conditions (including arena and staff situation. The results of the test will only be communicated to the clubs that have or will have the theoretical opportunity to obtain the license.
